In September 2023, the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF) delegation embarked on its high-impact “Sustainable Tomorrow through Environmental Protection (STEP) Tour,” covering an impactful route across Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives (as featured in IMG_3381.jpeg). As part of this regional climate action push, the LWPF team spearheaded a successful community tree plantation drive near Colombo to foster ecological resilience and sustainable development. During the Sri Lankan leg of the tour, the delegation held a prestigious meeting with the then Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, to discuss joint environmental initiatives and cross-border cooperation. Following these milestone engagements in Sri Lanka, the LWPF team extended its environmental advocacy mission to the Maldives, reinforcing the forum’s unwavering commitment to climate action, regional collaboration, and a greener South Asia.
