On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF) successfully hosted its annual award ceremony in Bhairahawa, where the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, presented the prestigious Lumbini World Peace Honor 2023 to an inspiring group of changemakers. This year’s honorees were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to global harmony and progress: the Annapurna Media Network’s “Unity for Sustainability” campaign was recognized for its vital climate and environmental advocacy; the “Tour de Lumbini” campaign was honored for promoting peace through its unique cycling initiatives; Senior Journalist Madhav Dhungana was awarded for his outstanding dedication to press freedom and human rights; and Social Activist Bijaya Khatary Rawal was commended for her impactful efforts in promoting gender equality and women’s rights. Reflecting on the event, LWPF President and Founder Basu Gautam emphasized the profound importance of uplifting the individuals and organizations actively working to build a better world, reinforcing the Forum’s commitment to honoring those who champion sustainability, justice, and peace.
