Background

Lumbini World Peace Forum will be running Lumbini World Peace Exhibition– an International art and photography exhibition around the world between 2017-2020. Paintings, thangkas, photos and handicrafts from Nepal will be for sale at the show, and the proceeds will go towards building residential art studios in Lumbini , Nepal and other damaged villages due to April 2015 great earthquake to allow villagers to learn and make handicrafts to earn more money to rebuild their homes.
lumbinicThis exhibition in 2017-2020 will feature art work by Artists from Nepal and Photographs by Basu Gautam, survivor of the Nepal Earthquake, President and Founder of Lumbini World Peace Forum as well as other renowned photographers from Nepal. There will also be handicrafts and products made by survivors living in temporary shelters in Nepal.

Lumbini World Peace exhibition is part of the Artist Exchange Program for World Peace and Harmony (AEPfWPH) that supports visual artists and art professionals to travel to international residencies and artist communities and for Nepalese artists to travel to and exhibit their works internationally. AEPfWPH’s goal is to encourage and reward dedicated artists with unique opportunities afforded by travel for the exchange of ideas and expertise between peers. We hope to crutch creative development expands access to the art to other cultures and mutual understanding across cultures. The program provides dedicated Nepalese artists who create work of exceptional quality and whose work and career is at a level; to benefit from international exchange with peers.

Lumbini World Peace Exhibition is an initiative of Lumbini World Peace Forum, a non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal that works to promote world peace, social-justice, equality, sustainable development and respect for the environment. Lumbini International Peace Festival is also supported by Sri Ramanuja Mission Trust, Chennai, India.

All profits of the event will go towards building residential art studios in Lumbini and other villages where foreign artists can stay and exchange experience with local artists, as well as train survivors to make handicrafts to allow them to create arts and crafts to sell and use the funds to rebuild their homes.
